CQ Tip #1
Your seam ripper is your friend!

Measure twice, cut once!
CQ Tip #3
To put your border on evenly, fold the border strip in half and mark the center with a pin. Next, measure your finished quilt blocks (example: 4"). Working your way out from the center, place a pin every 4" on the border strip. Now attach the border to your quilt by matching the center of the border with the center of the quilt. Finally, match the pins with the seams between each square.
CQ Tip #4
When the pattern calls for for many, many pinwheels consider trying one of the various products available for making multiple half-square triangle squares when using the products, you will need to adjust your cutting instructions accordingly.
CQ Tip #5
If your corners don't match perfectly, or if you've cut off a pinwheel point, place an applique over it.
CQ Tip #6
When paper piecing, square the first piece of fabric to the pattern by using a glue stick or the two-sided tape from scrapbooking.
CQ Tip #7
When sewing and pressing triangles, be careful not to stretch the fabric. This will distort your finished square.
CQ Tip #8
When using paper templates, try using he two-sided tape from scrapbooking to hold your templates to the fabric. It peels right off after cutting
CQ Tip #9
If a copy machine is not available to you, make multiple copies of your paper-piecing pattern by stapling several sheets of blank paper to the back of your pattern. Then take the thread out of your sewing machine and "sew" along the lines of your pattern. Unstaple and number your "copies".
CQ Tip #10
Cut, sew, and iron your binding when cutting the rest of your fabric. Then you will be ready to put your binding on as soon as you are finished quilting!
